desktop wallpaper: ruit hora
I was reading some commentary on Scripture which cited a theologian by the name of Grotius. Like any Internet scholar, I did the right thing and looked him up on Wikipedia. Turns out Hugo Grotius was both a gentleman, a scholar (he went to college at age 11!), a philosopher, and a theologian, an early proponent of Arminianism and international law. On top of that, he wrote the first Protestant textbook on Christian apologetics, and developed a view of atonement that is pretty popular today. If you’ve ever heard the idea that “Jesus’ sacrificial death occurred in order for the Father to forgive while still maintaining his just rule over the universe,” and you agree with that view, then thank God for it, but also give some respect to Mr. Grotius because he was the first to advocate it.
Anyways, he had a personal motto, which was the Latin phrase “Ruit Hora.” It means, “Time is running away.” I liked it because it was a catchy Latin phrase and it’s a good thing to be reminded of. So I made it into a wallpaper for your computer, capturing both the ideas of sunset and motion towards it.
I’ve shown a thumbnail; right-click on a resolution that’ll fit for you and press something along the lines of “Save Link As…” or “Save Target As…” If someone wants it made in another res, let me know!

very cool. Thanks for making this! It doesn’t fit correctly on 1280 x 854, but it still looks good. I must say, I’d like to see many more of these - props!
