on the internet: evangelical muslims
The purpose of this link is twofold: One, to introduce you to a site that seems pretty legit when it comes to talking about Christian news. Two, to provide an interesting insight into the state of Muslim affairs in America.
First of all, the fact that people want to pull the ad is, to me, nothing but fear and prejudice. We love our freedom of speech, unless you’re Muslim. If you’re a Muslim, then you’re a radical one and you’ve probably got a brother who had enough to do with some kind of terrorist group that we can cause a ruckus and get the ad pulled. There’s no double standard to the First Amendment, folks! If Christians wanna fight for freedom of religious expression, then the consequence is that Muslims get to enjoy the fruits of our labor.
Second, I think this article should give us somewhat of a sense of urgency. Do we know enough about Islam to combat it, particularly in the face of their goal to convert the entire world by 2080? They’d better hope I don’t live to be 94…
If we don’t start evangelizing America, other religions will, and are evidently already starting to do so. A lot of lukewarm ‘Christians’ are susceptible because they’re weak in their understanding of our God which would allow a Muslim to come in with their views of a deity that is very very similar to ours and, in some ways, simpler and thus easier to understand. Muslims don’t have to explain the Trinity, how three is one and one is three; they just say one. Muslims don’t have to talk about 66 books in three languages written down after Jesus left, they have one book in one language that was written down by the guy who started the movement. That doesn’t make them right…certainly not! But it provides an easier answer that nominal Christians will potentially be drawn to.
So read this one! It’s interesting to think about.

I believe that if people want quick answers, then atheism or agnosticism is more readily available than Islam because simple soundbites can be used to refute anything that is said. The whole idea of people wanting quick answers is another issue in itself, though, which I have a good link to here: http://www.tektonics.org/googlestoopid.html
